Good afternoon,

We made it through May, which means we have 9.5 days of school left. It will be a packed two weeks with grade level field days, step day for 5th grade, and the 5th grade farewell. I am looking forward to the end of year events. 

 

Last Day of School:

Speaking of the end of the year, please do not forget that the last day of school, June 14, is a half day. If you are picking up your student, you can pick them up at 12:00. Bussers will be picked up around 12:15. We will message families as the buses leave campus. 

 

Field Day:

If you have not signed up to volunteer for field day, it is not too late. Please reach out to the classroom teacher. I know they could use your help. 5th grade is going to Deering Park on June 11. They will spend the morning at Deering playing games and eating pizza. They are super excited about this. 

 

5th Grade Farewell:

On June 14 from 10:00-11:30 am, we will hold our 4th annual 5th grade farewell (we did not get to have one my first year because of COVID). The farewell will be held in the cafeteria. We will have performances by chorus and band, a 5th grade video, and music created by the 5th grade. This is one of my favorite moments. I hope you join us for this event. This is a casual event, so students do not need to dress up.

 

Report Cards:

Final report cards will go out with students on the last day of school. Please check your student’s folders.

 

News from Nurse Nell:

Please be aware that all students in middle and high school need a letter from their healthcare provider to participate in any school sports teams. Please make an appointment for your child to get a “sports clearance” letter from their provider. Sports clearance letters are needed every two years. Provide a copy of the letter to your child’s middle school nurse or coach. Also, your child will need the vaccine boosters Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria + pertussis) and MCV4 (meningococcal conjugate vaccine) before entering 7th grade. Please contact your school school nurse if you do not have insurance, need help finding a provider or making an appointment.
