All About Me

Mrs.H. Nichols' Picture

I graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a degree in Elementary Education in 1984. This year marks my 30th year of teaching for Portland Public Schools. Of those 31 years, 25 of them have been in the classroom.  The other six were as a math mentor teacher and computer teacher. I have taught grades 1, 2, and 3.  This is my second year teaching 5th grade.
I grew up in the small town of Kingfield, nestled in the foothills of western Maine, 15 minutes from Sugarloaf mountain.   I love skiing, golf, hiking and working in my gardens.

I am married and have a 24-year-old son, who graduated from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City and has recently started Dental School at UNE.  My husband and I are very proud of him, to say the least!
